The ground rules
Stoury helps you plan trips around the films and shows you love. These terms explain what Stoury does, what it doesn't, and what we ask of you when you use it.
Effective date: October 13, 2026
Who we are
Stoury is operated by Secret Weapon Studios ("we", "us"). You can reach us at inquiries@stoury.com, or simply reply to any email we've sent you.
Accepting these terms
By using Stoury, including the website, saved trips and the emails we send you, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy policy. If you don't agree, please don't use Stoury.
What Stoury is
Stoury is a free trip-planning tool. It maps places connected to films and TV shows, curates them into itineraries, and links you to the venues and booking partners that provide the actual experiences.
Stoury is not a travel agent, tour operator or booking agent. We don't sell, provide or operate any table, tour, ticket, hotel room or other service. Those are provided by our partners and by the venues themselves, for example Resy, OpenTable, SevenRooms, GetYourGuide, Viator and hotels.
Bookings and payments
Stoury doesn't take payment and doesn't make bookings on your behalf. When you book, you book directly with the partner shown, on their site or in their booking widget, under their terms, cancellation rules and privacy policy. Your agreement for that booking is with them, not with Stoury.
"Book my trip" is a guided run through the partners' booking links for each stop in your trip, one after another. It doesn't reserve anything by itself. Prices, availability and confirmations come from the partner, and questions about a booking, a change, a refund or a problem on the day go to them.
How we make money
Stoury is free to use. Some links to partners are affiliate links: if you book through one, we may earn a commission from the partner. This doesn't change the price you pay.
Accuracy of information
We work to keep Stoury accurate, but places change. Opening hours, prices, seasons, closures and access can change without notice, and a place may have closed since we listed it. Please check with the venue or partner before you go.
Film and filming-location information is for interest only. It comes from public records and other sources and may be incomplete or wrong. A listing doesn't mean a place is affiliated with, or endorsed by, any film, show, studio, cast member or rights holder, and a filming permit shows where a production was permitted to film, not necessarily what appears on screen. Many locations are private property or working businesses: please respect them.
Acceptable use
Please use Stoury for planning your own trips. You agree not to:
- scrape, crawl or bulk-download Stoury's content or data, except through public endpoints we offer for that purpose and under their stated attribution terms;
- interfere with or overload the site, or try to get around its security, including passcode-protected areas;
- use Stoury to break the law, or to harass, mislead or harm anyone;
- misrepresent your relationship with Stoury or with our partners.
We may limit or end access for anyone who misuses Stoury.
Feedback
If you send feedback with the Feedback button, including a screenshot of the page and any note you add, you let us use it to fix and improve Stoury, with no obligation to you. Please don't include other people's personal information, or anything sensitive, in a screenshot or note.
Intellectual property and third-party content
Stoury's design, text, itineraries and curation belong to us or our licensors. You're welcome to share links to Stoury and use it for your own trips, but please don't copy or republish it in bulk.
Film and TV titles, names and images belong to their respective owners and are used to identify the works. Map and location information comes from these sources, credited where it is shown:
- NYC Open Data: the City of New York's film permits data, used under the NYC Open Data terms of use.
- Wikidata: structured data released under CC0.
- TMDB: film and TV information. This product uses the TMDB API but is not endorsed or certified by TMDB.
- Wikimedia Commons: some stop photos, credited and licensed as shown with each photo.
- Google Maps and Places: maps and place details provided by Google and used under Google's terms. Where Stoury shows Google Maps features, your use of them is also subject to the Google Maps/Google Earth Additional Terms of Service and the Google Privacy Policy.
- Our own curation: the selection, descriptions and itineraries we write.
If you believe something on Stoury infringes your rights, write to inquiries@stoury.com and we'll look into it promptly.
Saved trips and email
You can save a trip by giving us your email address, and we'll send you a link that reopens it on any device. Anyone with that link can view and edit the trip, so keep the email somewhere safe. You're responsible for the trip details and booking notes you add.
A saved trip is deleted automatically 18 months after it was last changed, and you can delete it sooner at any time with the "Delete this trip" link. If you opt in to new itineraries, every one of those emails has an unsubscribe link. Our Privacy policy explains what we keep and why.
Third-party sites
Stoury links to, and shows widgets from, sites and services we don't control, including booking partners, venues, maps and data sources. Their own terms and privacy policies apply when you use them, and we aren't responsible for their content, availability, prices or conduct.
Disclaimers
Stoury is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We don't promise that Stoury will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that any place, partner or booking will meet your expectations.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses, or for anything that happens at a venue or with a booking you make with a partner. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not all apply to you.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois. Any dispute will be heard in the courts located in Illinois.
Changes
We may update these terms as Stoury changes. We'll post the new version on this page and update the effective date, and if a change is significant we'll say so on the site. Continuing to use Stoury after a change means you accept the updated terms.
